Baku Water Week 2025
The second edition of Baku Water Week 2025, which took place from 10 to 12 September 2025 at the Baku Expo Center, brought together experts and companies from more than 15 countries to discuss the future of water management. The event featured presentations of cutting-edge technologies ranging from drinking water treatment, irrigation and sewage systems to digitalization, artificial intelligence and desalination. The conference program focused on strategic water resources management, ecology and innovation, and important international cooperation agreements were signed during the meeting.
The Czech Republic was also represented at the event by our institution in the person of Deputy Director Mr. Libor Ansorge. The Czech Republic was also represented by Mr. Michal Jirdásek from MEGA a.s. Both Czech representatives actively participated in expert discussions, thereby confirming the strong position of Czech experts and technologies in the field of water management. The participation followed up on previous activities and cooperation with Azerbaijani institutions, which opens up new opportunities for Czech innovations.
Azerbaijan is now investing intensively in irrigation systems, the construction of water reservoirs and pilot projects for desalination of the Caspian Sea. A significant impetus is also the planned opening of a branch of the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) in Baku, which will strengthen cooperation not only in the region, but also in the wider Central Asia region. This represents a significant opportunity for Czech companies, whose technologies in the field of water treatment, digitalization and sustainable development can play a key role.
