Principles of sustainability of the fish population of water features of cultural monuments and historical settlements

The object of the monument procedure is to put into practice appropriate and proven principles of the composition of fish stocks of water elements of cultural monuments, both for production ponds and reservoirs, and for ornamental reservoirs and pools. At the same time, it provides information on the methods of managing fish stocks, the principles of stocking predatory fish, the use of fish for biomelioration of the environment of water elements. It also clearly presents recommendations for the maintenance and care of farmed fish. In order to achieve this, it also includes a section aimed at determining and describing the appropriate solution approach to improving water conditions, including water quality, and ensuring the sustainability of fish stocks. Part of the monument procedure is also a brief analysis of the degradation of the environment of reservoirs and ponds from the point of view of fish survival, due to pollution and eutrophication of waters. It also describes the individual causes causing the unsuitable state of the aquatic environment.
