TGM WRI Board

The Institution’s Board is a body elected by the public research institution staff. It elects from among its members the chairman of the Institution’s Board and the vice-chairman of the Institution’s Board, who represents the chairman in his/her absence, and may also dismiss them. Among others, the Institution’s Board:

  • ensures that the purpose for which the public research institution was established is maintained, that the public interest is applied in its activities and that it is properly managed;
  • sets the direction for the public research institution’s activities in accordance with the charter and decides on the concept of its development,
  • approves the public research institution’s budget and its amendments and the medium-term budgetary outlook,
  • approves selected internal regulations of the public research institution,
  • approves the annual report and financial statements and decides on the distribution of profit or compensation of loss,
  • discusses proposals for amendments to the Dead of Establishment,
  • gives prior consent or proposes to the Establisher a merger, amalgamation, or division of the public research institution,
  • announces a selection procedure, on the basis of the result of which it proposes to the Establ isherthe appointment of the selected candidate as the Director of the public research institution, proposes his/her dismissal, or gives its consent to it,
  • discusses proposals for research, development, and innovation projects of the  public research institution,
  • discusses proposals for the negotiation of agreements on foreign cooperation of a
  • the public research institution and agreements on cooperation with institutions in the Czech Republic.
